September 26, 2012 , Auburn Hills, Mich. -  FIAT of Manhattan and the service operations of Manhattan Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram will be moving to larger digs in April 2013, a new location designed to enhance the sales and service experience for their customers.

Both FIAT of Manhattan and the service operations of Manhattan Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram currently are located at 711 11th Ave. in Midtown Manhattan. Both are owned and operated by the same family.

The move, slated for April 2013, will be to a larger location at 629 West 54th St. The new location is a leased 110,000-square-foot building that fronts on the West Side Highway, one of Manhattan’s busiest thoroughfares that runs along the Hudson River.

“This new location offers us the optimal opportunity to enrich the dealership experience for our customers,” said Patrick Monninger, dealer principal at FIAT of Manhattan and Manhattan Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram. “Not only will it be on one of Manhattan’s busiest highways, the new site will provide our customers with a more modern facility and the most relaxed setting in the city with spacious showrooms, lounges, and cafeteria.”

Manhattan Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram conducts sales at 678 11th Ave., but has its service operations at 711 11th Ave., adjacent to the FIAT studio.

With this move, both operations will continue to do business in New York’s largest central business district. Midtown Manhattan is considered the busiest single commercial district in the United States. More than a dozen new car dealerships are clustered in the general area, known as “Auto Row,” and others are under construction.

“Our new location, with its tremendous exposure to the West Side Highway, will further strengthen our presence in this important area of Midtown Manhattan,” said Peter Grady, Vice President of Network Development and Fleet. “We will be able to provide our customers with a greatly-enhanced dealership experience with larger and more inviting showrooms and customer waiting areas, as well as additional service bays.”

For example, service customers will have easier access to the service department at the new location. A service lane will extend from 55th Street through to 54th Street. The full service and parts operation will have 30 service bays, up from 18 bays at the current location. Renovations have already begun at the new location, which formerly housed an auto dealership.

FIAT of Manhattan currently sells and services the 2012 Fiat 500, Fiat 500 Cabrio and Fiat 500 Abarth. When it moves to the new location next year, it will have two 4,000-square-foot showrooms.
