Camp Jeep® New York Will be Held Outdoors for the First Time Ever, April 6-15; One Test Drive Participant Will Win a Trip to Camp Jeep Virginia in July

April 2, 2007,  Auburn Hills, Mich. - Camp Jeep®  New York, bigger and better than ever, will be held entirely outdoors for the first time during the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), April 6-15 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.

At 45,000-sq.-ft., Camp Jeep New York will transform the entire Inner Roadway of the Javits Center into an off-road driving adventure, giving consumers an opportunity to truly experience the world’s most capable 4x4 vehicles and the lifestyle that goes with them. Consumers will be driven in the vehicles by professional drivers.

Also, one lucky individual who takes a test drive will win an all-expense paid trip with their family to Camp Jeep Virginia, the annual three-day mix of off-road driving and other family oriented outdoor activities. The person chosen at the NYIAS will be the 500,000th person to take a ride on a Chrysler Group auto show test drive course since 2004. That is the year that the Corporation's auto show test drive program began.

Camp Jeep Virginia, which is only open to the owners of Jeep vehicles, will be held July 26-28 at the Oak Ridge Estate in Nelson County, Va., near Charlottesville. Country music star Tim McGraw will perform on July 26.

On April 14, the Jeep brand will donate $5 to the Wildlife Conservation Society's "Tigers Forever" project for everyone who takes a ride on the Jeep Trail Rated® Test Track at Camp Jeep.  The goal of the project is a 50 percent increase in the number of tigers in key areas of the world over the next decade.

The highlight of the exhibit at the NYIAS is the Jeep Trail Rated Test Track which includes water fording, ground clearance, articulation, traction and maneuverability demonstrations. The track is an off-road playground where consumers can ride in models of the 2007 Commander, Grand Cherokee, Liberty, Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited.

The test track will consist of seven different surfaces – dirt, mulch, gravel, rocks, water, wood and asphalt – and includes an 18-foot vertical climb on a Jeep Mountain. More than 220 yards of dirt and mulch will be used to construct the Trail Rated course.  All the dirt used will be recycled and returned back to original source.

Consumers will also have the opportunity to scale a 16-foot climbing wall, play video games featuring Tony Hawk and have their picture taken with a Jeep in the Jeep Photo Zone. Kids ages 3 and up can test drive mini Jeep vehicles on the Mini Jeep Kidz Course.

More than 35,000 riders are expected to take part of the Camp Jeep New York experience. This is the third consecutive year for Camp Jeep New York.
