The 1890 Land-Grant Universities are a network of 19 historically black colleges and universities, established by a second Morrill Act in 1890 to provide educational opportunity for all through innovative scientific research and community-minded extension programs.  2017-18 NBFA Scholarship Program by the Numbers:15 – Students who attend one of the 19 historically black land-grant universities and colleges        4 – Tuskegee University        3 – Prairie View A&M University        2 – Florida A&M University        2 – Fort Valley State University        1 – Langston University, Lincoln University, Southern University and A&M College and Tennessee State University, one student each  60 – NBFA scholarships awarded to 44 students since 2015$287,500 – Educational support provided since 2015 by the NBFA Scholarship Program  NBFA scholarships are awarded based upon several criteria, including academic performance, demonstrated leadership, participation in agricultural and community activities, and career goals and objectives.
